Dropping out of high school isn’t something that you would usually relate with success, to the contrary in fact and there are more than a million students who drop out of high school each year, who end up leading lives that are very far from successful.

One of the reasons of the increasing number of dropouts could be the absence of holistic development. Each child is different and their wants need to be addressed separately from a very young age. The curriculum should be planned in such a way that it addresses the individual needs of each child. Take, for instance, private schools in houston, they tend to offer not only educational but also leadership skills that could prepare them to face real-life situations and adversities of the world. And the chances are high that a student of such a school wouldn’t want to drop out.

TB Joshua didn’t even gat to his second year of high school, known by many as ‘small pastor’ the Nigerian prophet and pastor was a passionate Christian but things looked bleak for him after leaving school. After a message from heaven in a vision, Joshua was inspired to create his own church, the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN). The church quickly became something of a landmark in Nigeria, it has a huge following and is one of the biggest churches in Africa. Joshua himself has found great fame from his many accurate prophecies and his passionate sermons.

Aretha Franklin

The Queen of Soul is one of the World’s most famous college dropouts, she left school at 15 to care for her first child, she never gave up on her dream of being a singer. After singing with many gospels choirs, Aretha landed a record deal and the rest is history as they say. Fast forward to the present day and Franklin has not only amassed a huge fortune but also lead a trailblazing career that has seen her win a stunning 18 Grammy Awards.

Richard Branson

Having taken the decision at 15 years old to leave school, Branson felt that the education system wasn’t giving him the best opportunity for success and thought that he could do a better job. The young Branson was right, he quickly became an entrepreneur, setting up many businesses under the brand name Virgin and overseeing the running of hundreds more. Branson has earned a fortune of $4.9 billion and the Virgin brand is one of the most recognizable in the World. It would seem that Branson made a pretty smart decision all those years ago.

Quentin Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino is one of the most famous and successful movie directors of the 20th and 21st Century, you may be surprised to learn that he too dropped out of high school at age 15 to pursue his career in the movie industry. Tarantino started taking acting lessons and working as an usher in a movie theater spending hours “watching movies and learning the craft”. Tarantino succeeded in achieving his dreams as a movie director and has since gone on to produce box office smashes such as Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill among many others. Tarantino has created his own unique style of filmmaking and is considered one of the best of all time.
