May 11, 2015

Airbrush foundation is one of the best options to enhance the appearance of your skin. It allows many people to look flawless – even if they do not have good skin. Imagine that? Too often, people assume that airbrushing is a technique that only professional makeup artists use. This is simply not the case. There are products available, like TEMPTU Pro, which make airbrushing easy for the everyday individual. You can even master the art of contouring so you look like a glamorous celebrity who belongs on the red carpet. Here are some tips to help you get started.

Clean Your Skin

Before you apply airbrush foundation, it is crucial to clean your skin. Use a good cleanser that will remove residue from your skin and pH balance it. Then, apply a moisturizer where needed to nourish and hydrate your skin. These steps prepare your skin for makeup application. They ensure that you have a great canvas to apply makeup on.

When you use regular foundation, it is common to conceal after foundation. If you do this with airbrush foundation, you will ruin the texture. Therefore, once you have cleaned your skin, make sure to conceal any areas of concern. For most people, this is the eye area.

Apply Foundation

Next, you can apply the foundation. You do not need very much product to create an amazing finish. Before you begin spraying, make sure to test it on your hand to ensure that it is working properly. Then spray it on your face, holding the device six to twelve inches from your face. Try to spray in circular motions and coat each area of your face evenly. You can layer to achieve more coverage.

To contour the face, use a darker shade of foundation or a liquid bronzer. Spray this lightly underneath your cheekbones to create a soft shadow. You can also add bronzer on your t-zone and around your jawline. This will add dimension to your face and help your features stand out. When you are choosing a bronzer, look for one that does not have a lot of shimmer. Also, less is usually more when you contour. You can always add product if you want more definition.

To finish the look, highlight your cheekbones and brow bones with a liquid illuminator or shimmer. It usually looks best to lightly spray this product along the cheekbone towards the apples of the face.

When you follow these steps, you will be able to properly highlight and contour your face using airbrush foundation. Your features will stand out, and you will look picture perfect.
